Rustic Algarve offers authentic carob from Algarve, naturally grown and carefully prepared in southern Portugal.

Rustic Algarve was created from a simple idea: to offer pure, natural carob from Portugal in its most honest form.
Our Carob from Algarve
Our carob from Algarve grows in dry, mineral-rich soils and benefits from the Mediterranean sun. We focus on small-scale harvesting and careful processing to preserve the natural sweetness and quality of the pods.
Our products come from the Algarve region, where carob trees have shaped the landscape for centuries. These trees grow in dry, mineral-rich soils and thrive under the southern Portuguese sun. Their pods have long been valued as a traditional and nourishing food.
At Rustic Algarve, we focus on small-scale production and careful handling. Our carob is harvested locally, processed with attention, and prepared without unnecessary additives. We believe that simplicity is strength. The quality of the raw ingredient speaks for itself.
We work with respect for the land and the traditions connected to it. Carob is part of the cultural and agricultural heritage of the Algarve, and we see ourselves as part of that continuity.
Our goal is not mass production. Our goal is authenticity, transparency, and consistency.
Rustic Algarve stands for:
- Natural origin
- Careful processing
- Honest ingredients
- Direct connection to the source
We are committed to building trust through clarity, quality, and responsibility.

Rooted in the Algarve
The Algarve is more than a location. It is a landscape shaped by dry hills, traditional agriculture, and centuries-old carob trees. Many of these trees grow without irrigation, relying only on natural rainfall and the Mediterranean climate.
We source locally and handle our production in Portugal. Keeping the process close to its origin allows us to maintain quality and traceability.
From Our Quinta to Your Home
Everything starts on our Quinta in the Algarve, where our carob pods are harvested by hand and handled with care. We work in small batches and keep the process close to its origin, so the quality of the raw ingredient remains at the centre.
After harvest, the pods are selected, gently prepared, and packed in Portugal without unnecessary additives. This simple approach allows us to offer carob in a form that feels honest, natural, and directly connected to the land it comes from.
What Makes Algarve Carob Special?
Carob from the Algarve grows under unique Mediterranean conditions. The region is known for its dry climate, mineral-rich soils, and long hours of sunshine. These natural factors shape the character of the pods and contribute to their naturally sweet taste.
Many carob trees in southern Portugal grow without irrigation, relying only on natural rainfall. This traditional way of cultivation has been part of the Algarve’s agricultural heritage for generations.
Unlike large-scale industrial production, small-scale harvesting allows us to respect the rhythm of nature and maintain the authenticity of the raw ingredient. This slower, hands-on approach preserves the natural sweetness and structure of the pods without unnecessary industrial processing. The result is carob that reflects its origin, simple, natural, and deeply connected to the land. Our carob from Algarve is valued for its natural sweetness, versatility, and long-standing role in traditional Portuguese food culture.
